The Rialto permeable safety grid tile system for floating floors has been specially developed to meet modern construction requirements for safety, ecological and other applications.

The system offers two types of tile surface:

1. an open pattern, designed for use supporting any size and shape of surface tiles;
2. a closed pattern which can be used as a standalone surface, or which can be covered with artificial grass, external carpeting or other suitable materials.   

The tiles are designed for use with a special locking connector joint which securely links them together to form a fully integrated, perfectly flat, lippage free surface. The system is designed to be mounted on any adjustable paving pedestal from the Dakota range, thus offering the possibility to create floating floors at any required height, even on sloping surfaces. 

The Rialto system is ideal for use across a wide spectrum of applications and offers the following benefits:

• provides an extremely strong, load bearing, unified structure. Each tile supports up to 4.28kN (962 lbf) ;
• can be surfaced with any size or shape of ceramic, concrete, marble or other pavers, providing 100% support to allow the use of thinner materials and larger tile sizes without risk of breakage;
• a special moulded thermoplastic rubber mat with separator fins (TER09-1131) is available to drastically reduce footfall noise and guarantee a 3 mm joint between the pavers;
• provides NO FALL-THROUGH protection in case of accidental breakage of the covering tiles or surfacing. Ideal for public areas and anywhere else where safety is a paramount requirement;
• the tile design offers flexible positioning of pedestal supports, to suit any requirement, with 13 mounting positions provided under each tile.
• extremely quick and easy to assemble, and to adjust heights and levels using Dakota pedestals;
• simple to dismantle and reconfigure for different uses if required;
• unique locking collar connectors are easy to fit - spare locking connectors will nest and can be used as a screwdriver for extra ease when installing or dismantling. The locking collars can be cut into halves for use at the perimeters;
  
• the apertures in the tile surfaces allow rain and storm water to drain through to the underlying surface;
• made from recycled reinforced polypropylene, the system is extremely durable, temperature resistant and eco-friendly as it can be recycled again at end of life.

Uses include:

• raised floating floors and walkways with tiled, or permeable, surfaces;
• patios and pathways;
• rooftop walkways and service access;
• mounting platforms for rooftop air conditioning or other plant;
• mounting platforms for ground level air conditioner and other plant installations;
• creating level, temporary flooring for outdoor events, marquees, etc.;
• to create raised, level, surfaces for temporary accommodation, tents, toilets and other outdoor facilities at festivals and events.

The Rialto system is designed to be easy to use, labour saving, suitable for a wide range of applications, with the flexibility to adapt for use in most environments and on any firm surface. The rugged nature of the product ensures excellent service under all conditions, including repeated assembly and disassembly when used for short term event provisions.

With new property rainwater/storm water taxes either already in effect, or planned in the near future in thousands of towns and cities around the world, based on the amount of impermeable surface on a property (roofs, driveways, paths, patios, etc.), permeable options are increasingly gaining attention.  The Rialto system, with permeable top surfaces can provide exceptional alternative quality solutions for patios, etc.
